The term “light” represents only a portion of the larger range of electromagnetic radiation. Light has a unique characteristic where it behaves as a wave and a particle at the same time. Measuring the wavelength in nanometers (nm) provides information about the light quality while measuring the particle (also known as photon or quanta) in micromoles per meter squared per second(umol/m2/s) provides information about the light quantity or “intensity”.
Light Emitting Diode (LED)
A semiconductor diode that emits light when voltage is applied: often used in controlled environment agriculture.
Living Soil
A cannabis growing method that uses a biodiverse soil mixture containing bacteria, fungi, protozoa, nematodes, arthropods, earthworms and more. Living soil is considered an organic method of growing.
